It is located in the Upper Dir district of KPK. It’s located in the foothills of the Hindu Kush Mountains. It is surrounded by Chitral to the north, Ayun Valley to the West, Kalam Swat Valley to the East, and Lower Dir to the South.
The nearest town to the valley is Thall. Thall is around 45 km from Kumrat Valley. The Panjkora River, which originates in the Hindu Kush Mountains, runs through Kumrat Valley. The valley is incredibly lush and green. Kumrat Valley is mostly known for its beautiful Deodar Forest. The large deodars give Kumrat a Fairytale-Like Ambiance.
Apart from beautiful picturesque sceneries, Kumrat Valley has two most popular areas :
The Jahaz Banda and The Katora Lake are the famous attractive places in the valley.

The weather of the Kumrat Valley is alpine climatic in nature. It is mild cool in summers and below freezing in winters. The average temperature here during summer’s ranges from 20°C to 25°C.

Your journey towards Kumrat Valley will be started from Islamabad.You will brought to the Dir. From Dir to Kumrat it will take approximately 5:00 hrs. The first visiting point is Thall.
Check-out from hotel, and move towards Jahaz Banda.
Jahaz Banda is the famous point of Kumrat Valley. Then there comes foot track till Jahaz Banda Via Thekhi Banda for 2.3 hrs trekking you will be in Jhaza Banda. Jhaz Banda a Lush Green valley a dream land one can mesmerized with. Panjokra River flows between the Deodar Forests scenic beauty and gives a pleasing feeling to the eyes of the visitors.
Next Morning we will head towards another adventurous place and dream lake Katora Lake. From Jahaz Banda till Katora Lake its 2 hours trekking. Things to keep with you: Your own Camps and food or can cook there yourselves as part of the adventure. There you can do camping and if feel fresh can move back to Jahaz Banda and make a night stay there.
